The rainbow in the dark is the centerpiece of the three-day festival of lights in the coastal city of Portsmouth

During the We Shine Portsmouth event, a group of artists worked hand in hand to create large-scale projections and lighting installations and dance performances throughout the city of Hampshire.

The rainbow was made in Victoria Park with lightly sprayed water and laser projection, along with projections of feather dervishes and fireflies dancing on the trees.

A spokeswoman for the We Shine Portsmouth project talked about the rainbow in the dark collectively created by artists Benjamin Craig and Mandala: "These two light sources merge into a form of hypnosis, which is fixed on a water curtain and One way is suspended in the air. The smoky 3D space is constantly drifting and rolling.

"This effect is an immersive, fun and joyful experience that never ceases to amaze and brings magical moments to the people interacting with it. Every location brings this work Different perspectives, almost have their own lives.

"A kaleidoscope of constant change is created within the framework of a full-spectrum laser."

Portsmouth also launched the country's first zebra crossing with LED panels installed on the road, which is illuminated to make it easier for drivers to see.

Member of the Portsmouth City Council's Transport and Transport Cabinet and Councillor Lynne Stagg said: "We are always looking for new ways to improve road safety and I am very happy that we are the first place in the UK to use this innovative new technology.

"We chose this intersection because it is very busy, especially at night, with many bars and restaurants-we want to make the intersection more visible and encourage more people to cross the road safely."
